Enrolling at our school
We’re excited to welcome new families to our Murarrie State School community!
Murarrie State School is not enrolment managed, which means we accept enrolments at any time of the year from families living both inside and outside our local area.
Step 1: Download, read and complete documents
Please download, read and complete the following forms.
Step 2: Book an enrolment interview
Once your enrolment forms have been received and processed, our team will contact you to arrange a suitable time for an enrolment interview.
If your child has a disability (e.g. ADHD; autism; hearing, physical, vision impairment; or iIntellectual disability), medical concerns (e.g. epilepsy or asthma) or behavioural support needs, please let our office staff know when booking your interview so that the relevant support staff can attend.
Step 3: Attend the enrolment interview
At your interview, please bring:
- your child’s original birth certificate
- proof of residency—2 documents showing the same address and parent/s name
- any relevant reports (e.g. medical, educational or support documentation).
You and your child will meet with a member of the admin team to discuss school expectations and your child’s placement.
If you haven’t already signed the enrolment agreement, this will be completed during the meeting.
In most cases, students can start school the following day.
Step 4: First day of school
On your child’s first day, please ensure they arrive ready to learn, with all required books and equipment. Our friendly staff will help your child settle into their new class and feel at home.
International students
We warmly welcome international students at Murarrie State School.
Families on certain visas may need to enrol as fee paying students.
Please visit the
Education Queensland International (EQI) website or contact EQI directly to confirm whether your enrolment should be made through EQI or directly with the school.
If your enrolment is made directly with the school, please:
- complete the enrolment package
- bring your passport and visa documentation to your interview with the principal.
